I think God is trying to understand himself by watching us. I also think it has something to do with the desire for all of us to find someone to share our lives with. Maybe God is lonely?
Why else would God create a creature in his image?
God wants us to evolve to be more like him.

If there is a God, I believe it is a creative energy that creates for the sake of creating. Ultimately, there is no purpose.
