Don't say December 31, 1989. It's not true. 1990 music was mostly 80s. In 1990 you had MC Hammer, Wilson Phillips, and Phil Collins. 1991 music was 80s too. In 1992 the '90s styles came out.

Wait a minute!? 80's music died??
I totally missed that memo.
To be honest I don't think it has really. Music cycles much like fashion does. The 80's are coming back into fashion with a modern flare now. Who's to say that the music of that time isn't going to come back as well? Hip-hop and such is making a move out the door as opposed to the spotlight it's been in recently. What's the next major music trend?
How's that song go? "For everything... Turn, Turn, Turn... There is a season... Turn, Turn, Turn...." ^.~

Damn, you think, 80's music began in 1980. How long did it take for you to think up that one. Oh I would have to say around 1988 is when that 80's theme began to change towards what the early 1990's were.

Although '80s music is still around '80s music had to die at the beginning of the '90s or else they wouldn't have had their chance at influencing a generation.

It still lives on! My laptop has loads of 80's music that reminds me of my childhood! I'm not sure what my favourite tune is though!
At the moment, it's either Nena - 99 Red Balloons or Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now.
Although Culture Club, Pet Shop Boys, Wham, and Tina Turner are all great too.

It never died. It's still the best stuff out there, even after 20 years.
So many great songs. Not like the garbage they make today. 80's music was real music. Today, they take the same pop song and make it over a million times, take the same rap song, and make it over a million times, nobody has any originality anymore. Sad.
