That is REALLY bad!! Ack! Your baby will become malnourished if you continue. Babies DO NOT need water. They get all the liquid they need from breastmilk or formula. What you are doing is filling the baby up on water and reducing the amount of nutrients the baby is getting. Babies should get a daily intake of specific amounts of calories and nutrients that are found in formula. If you give her all that water and water down the formula, she isnt getting the daily amount of calories and nutrients needed! Water has no nutrients or calories. She is PLENTY hydrated by the water mixed with the formula CORRECTLY following the directions on the instructions. You will make your child severely ill if you continue this practice! A little extra water will not hurt a baby, however, doctors recommend NO MORE than 4 additional ounces of water per day for a five month old baby - otherwise, malnourishment begins to occur. Please stop this! You are hurting your baby! Your mother in law is NOT an expert. There is a REASON that formula has been designed the way it has! To add so much water and to fill your baby up on so much additional water is dangerous!

No a baby does not need that much water. And please follow the instructions on the can while preparing a feed. Do not, Do not Do not mix glucorin to water. Just offer the baby boiled water cooled down. Lat the baby enjoy the taste of natural water. The baby is the best judge to decide how much water it wants. Just offer the water often, let her take how much ever she wants. Don't force anything on the baby. feed or water or fruits. If she cries Just change the food. Offer something else. Like us even they have moods.
Enjoy Parenting. And don't allow ur inlaws to bullying into u doing something. Have the courage to stand up. After all ur baby depends on u .

Anyone will drop a few pounds in the event that they continue to exist just one meals, however that is now not most effective fats that they are wasting. You're frame will begin consuming itself, muscle groups, liver, and so forth, for the vitamins and minerals that you are now not getting to your vitamin. Here's what I endorse as a substitute. Trust me in this. I've taken many vitamins categories and misplaced 50 kilos in 6 months and feature saved it off for years. The foremost thought is to burn extra energy than you’re taking in. It's inconceivable to coach you the whole thing I've found out on this little reply field, so I'll simply simplify it as high-quality I can. #one million Drink water! First of all, your brain has a difficult time understanding the change among starvation and thirst till you're two% dehydrated. So while you are watching via a pantry for a snack, its more commonly considering the fact that you are honestly thirsty. It's additionally an urge for food suppressant, and at any time when you drink water as a substitute of soda or lemonade, you are now not downing an complete cup of sugar and carbs with it. Just be certain to drink water more commonly for the duration of the day. #two Apples, regardless that now not always low in carbs, they preserve you complete for longer than different meals. Its a well rule of thumb that the fewer a meals is messed with, the fitter it's. For illustration, apple juice is larger than punch, apple sauce is larger than juice, and an apple is larger than apple sauce. Get it? Gum additionally offers you some thing to bite and style that does not deliver you lots of additional carbs both. #three Read meals labels! The extra you do, the extra you can study what's regarded top or low regarding fats, sugars, carbs, and protein. #four Exercise. When humans question me what is extra major, vitamin or pastime, its like asking which wing could you alternatively have while flying a airplane. You want each. Great tip: should you jog frivolously for 20 min earlier than you devour within the morning, you burn three occasions extra fats than should you run afterward within the day when you devour. Then take a bath and get able earlier than you've got breakfast, considering the fact that the fats maintains to burn for yet another hour. A rapid ab exercise is ultimate when you run when you consider that your middle is already somewhat reduce up from strolling. (do not run too difficult, it will have to be satisfying. You will have to in no way be so out of breath that you simply are not able to preserve a traditional dialog with anybody) #five Remember, its now not a vitamin. Its a difference of subculture and the best way you consider. There is not any such factor as a rapid repair. Be sufferer and CONSISTANT. Those are the keyword phrases. And should you do it effortless, then you can in no way get burned out and you can do it for the relaxation of your existence. That's the high-quality I can deliver you for now. If you ever get the risk, take a vitamins elegance, and/or get an pastime instructor. Good good fortune!

Do not ever add anything sweet to anything for a baby!!! what you get them used to now tends to set their tongues up for the tastes, and at that age (5mths) I would say only a few 2-3 oz only if she is not drinking alot of formula (which should also only be mixed according the directions on the container) also if you do want to flavor the water a bit if you choose to add about 1/2ozplain apple juice-no sugar added to 2 1/2oz water and by the way she is your baby not your in laws (if they seem offended by your not wanting to follow their orders then smile, nod, do what you feel is right, also tell them her Dr. gave you advice that is medically sound but goes against what they tell you, that would keep them off your back! lol)

Our baby is a year now and we were told to not give him water until her was a year. Even then, he is only suppose to have 0-4 oz of water or juice. As for the formula, I am not an expert, but I prefer to follow the directions or ask a doctor.

fortunately i have a 9 year old and a 5 month old, so i feel qualified to answer your question. Do not ever over water your baby's feed. Please keep to the specified quantities on the package. Baby does need water , but will drink any amount of cooled boiled water she needs(they can tell the difference you know) When you have your own meal you do not pour water into it, but drink separately. Baby is no different. Extra glucose is not required. are you African by any chance, What you have written sounds very familiar!!!

I was told by my baby's doctor that they do not need water until they turn 1. He told me that they get all the water they need from Formula. BTW: Formula or Breastmilk is best. No cows milk yet. Since your baby is 5 months old you can have them eating cereal and starting on veggies soon.
Don't listen to your in laws....The mean well but it may not always be the best thing for our children. Good luck to you!

Babies don't need any water at that age they get everything fluid from their formula or breast milk, as well as most of their nutrition. Follow the instructions on the can, not your in-laws advice. You could affect the growth of your baby. Don't water down the formula to save money either. Most formula manufacturers offer coupons or you can get WIC in CA, or Food Stamps in other states to help pay for it.

Formula cans have instructions for a reason. You can't add less milk in breast milk, and that is how formula is designed. Yes, babies need some water, but only if they are thirsty. However, they will not get dehydrated if they only drink formula. Consult a Ped.
