Ok, I love the work that I Do and the place that I work at.. It's close to home and the people here are a joy..
But I don't think I'm getting paid what I am worth.. I'm barely scraping by each week, and now petrol is on the rise and rent and food, but my wage has been the same for ages.. I asked my boss for a raise and he said he would give me one.. then he didn't?? I asked him what that was about and he said he will give me one in maybe 3 mnths when the budget shifts?? I really feel as if I am worth it a try my best at work and rarely make mistakes..What should I do... I just want enough to get by and feel like I'm being valued..(even though the boss tells me this I want to see it) I dont need to make a ridiculous amount of money or anything like that I think what I'm asking for is reasonable.. P.S. Ive been at this company for 4 years..

There is not much you can do to force your boss to give you a raise. Maybe if you talk to other workers and see how long it took them to get a raise, and if it is not the same as you, you could bring that up with your boss, not mentioning anyone's name, of course. Otherwise, you can stay at that job and try to find a new similar job that will pay you what you are worth. It seems you are being taken advantage of here. Have you not gotten ANY raise in 4 years? You should have gotten one every year, that is standard in almost all businesses. Maybe you could bring that up with your boss, also. Again, you can't force him to give you a raise, but it sure seems you are way past due for one. Good luck to you.

is there any other place u can apply in ur line of work?
i do think u are limiting urself to this company-coz the ppl are good...u have monetary issues that need to be addressed immediately,if u try , im sure with ur experience u wud get a better salary and a good working hour...u have to try, dont shove past this suggestion....it is scary to try out something new...
and wen u leave ur old office leave with a decent goodbye, dont get nasty...

Time to look for another job.
Go on interviews, accept a position and THEN demand a raise there or you give notice.
