You don't have to jump right in and get a tattoo. I have 2 and love them, but they took months of planning. Get something you can still see yourself having at 30,40,50,60 etc. Not trying to discourage you, just get something you like, not what everyone else likes. Hope this helps you a little bit.

Get something that suits your personality. I designed my own when I got it, a chubby devil laying in a martini glass with an olive stuck to the end of his pitchfork. I still love it, it suits me and is original as far as I know.
