I consider myself a moderate conservatitive. I've been voting Republican since 1988.
However, I do not hate or consider those on the other side ignorant. I feel they have just as much right to their opinions as I do.
In fact, I respect a tie-dyed liberal much more than I respect a bible thumping religious conservative. A liberal, IMO, is trying to do what is best for the common good. May not always WORK, but they're trying, and I can respect that.
Doesn't mean that I won't get into a nice long arguement with them over policy.... but when you CAN debate, that's when there is progress.

They say the same about conservatives, unfortunately.
It's all in the eye of the beholder. The ones that resort to name-calling labels are usually the ones that really think they can change the other person's stance. Out of frustration when they realize progress isn't being made, the slanderous slurs come flying.
You can educate but not cultivate...

Conservative; To Conserve, or Gather all available sources of Information, both that One Agrees with, and, more Importantly, those that One Disagrees with. If Someone has a Differing Point of View, it needs to be Heard ! Liberal; One who Wishes to "Liberate" Their Point of View from all Others, and Refuses to Hear a Differing Point of View ! With that "Mind-Set" , One could be accurately Defined as "Ignorant" ! If This Definition is Incorrect, then Please Prove It !

In what way are we ignorant? Is it because we present facts that contradict your own pre-conceived idea of the world?
Or, perhaps, it's because we actually present well articulated statements, as opposed to baseless slander?
Perhaps we should just resort to name-calling and finger pointing - which, from this question you posted, it seems you think is the answer to all the world's woes.

Dunno. Why are you so concise in your arrogant, judgmental, pointless, name-calling post?
Someone suggests that someone "prove" a biased characterization of liberals wrong, but the effort would be as pointless as the original question. When one first offers a staid, almost dictionary-like definition of "conservative," then offers a vindictive, stereotyped, obnoxious "definition" of liberal, there's no point to attempting genuine debate or communication with someone so arrogantly closed-minded.

They are blinded by their hatred of the other side of the political spectrum, that all reason goes out the window... Which then causes insanity and mean-spiritedness.
This goes for both conservatives and libs. But, I see it a lot more in libs -- perhaps because the conservatives are the current ones in power.

Greedy rich people who believe in Hatred and Racism. No offense and I know for a fact they are Democrat es!
Demo crates have been mislead. They want all minorities to be poor, to make themselves superior over others.
It's called lack of a good education.
