Just tell them the same way you told us -- you don't want romance. Be firm but kind; no hurt feelings. You may want to pursue some of them later in life if you're still connected.

Tell the giys or ladies that you are only interested in your studies at the moment. Ask them if they are willing to be your friends, if yes it is a win win situation for both party. If they dun want, then it is considered as their loss. So you dun have to worry too much

Tell them you are not interested in romance now, but would love to be their friend. Ask if they would like to be your friend. If not, then that's their loss, not yours.

it's simple to say but hard to do I know.Just say what is in your mind.tell them that you don't feel ready for a romance or whatever is the problem.they will understand you.if they care about you than they will understand.good luck!
