if you want your book to last more than 1 hundred years, you need to make your own paper (modern paper is too acid)
If you want it to last longer than 1 thousand years, i't better to use something else than paper and ink, like etching your words on stone or inoxidable metal.
But let me warn you : it's going to cost you an arm and a leg.

i've thought about itt before. the best answer i could come up with was to find a place in the mountains, carve out a small chamber, place the book on a pedistal in the middle of the chamber, pump out all of the air (to better preserve the book), and seal it with several layers of concrete and rocks.
with any luck, in a few thousand years, someone will break open the chamber and they will stumble upon your writings.

Rasputin. Date of the opening of his casket written in a piece of paper along with his book of predictions, buried along with him. Written and unwritten, is well preserved. It is the best method, I just don't know how.

don't bury it underground in a garden, cuz it could be a dog lookin for plcs to hide his bones diggin it out, not man. try putting it in plastic like seven_nine suggested and bury it somewhere so that man finds it out, e.g, a patch of land tht can be farmed.

i would probably stick it in something non biodegradable (e.g. PLASTIC) and label it as well as you can so that it doesnt look like garbage. how about clear plastic kinda like tuppelware?

to make it history, get it published, hiding it in the ground will just make it dirty and decay.
