Everyone has issues with confidence in interviews. Don't worry about it. The interviewer should understand that english is not your first language and accept it. To lit them know that you're the best chouce for the job, get help writing a resume and bring a lot of past work that shows that you are capable of performing the job that you are applying for. The confidence issue can be addressed by reading a book or two on the subject. Check your local book store for anything about successful interviewing. Remember, the more you know about the job and company you are applying for, the more confident you'll be. Don't worry about the languagr barrier. Good luck!

there's no magic trick that'll make it any easier

You just have to come to the interview prepared - research all the information you'll need (history of the company, what your job will be, etc), and practice. Get someone to pretend to be interviewing you, and go through the whole thing a few times.

I know it's not easy, but practice makes perfect, and being prepared makes the whole thing a lot more palatable.

You seem from your post to have an excellent command of the English language. It sounds hard to do, but don't worry about it! Yes, you probably will make some sort of mistake or another but just be prepared to laugh at any mistakes you might make. Being able to laugh at yourself is one of the best ways to build the self-confidence you need and to show others that you have that self-confidence!!

Try imagining the questions that you might be asked and practice your rsponses. Maybe even with a friend. You seem to be at the very least semi-fluent, so it's probably that you just get afraid that you won't know how to say what you mean. Practice makes perfect. Good luck.

my last interview, I was so nervous and had a very dry mouth but got that job. But the one previous, I was very comfortable and damned if I know why I never got that job. It's just a hit and miss thing I guess.

sit in front of a long mirror and talk to it, have conversations with yourself and tell the mirror about all your good qualities. Do this everyday!
