See the movie "What Dreams May Come" for one idea; a very creative and interesting one.

To me, the concept of heaven is a very individual thing. If it is true that some people are rewarded and some punished after they die, and the rewarded ones get to go to a place which seems to be just perfect to them, then it would have to be different for everyone. So it is very possible that it is like a constant dream state, but with no bad dreams. All the wish-fulfilling dreams you ever had, played out in endless timelessness.

It is also possible that it is a specific place, some other planet perhaps, which was perceived as perfect by the mystics who were privileged to see it, but which might not be perfect for everyone. The endless jokes about heaven for atmosphere but hell for companionship have a ring of truth to them; that's why we laugh. We get used to the idea of heaven as a place where stuffy old Sunday School Superintendents go, and frankly, I'd take New Jersey over that!

Back to the movie "What Dreams May Come," where Robin Williams delivers one of the best lines of his career (up there with "Reality? What a concept!"): "Hey, I found you in hell. Don't you think I can find you in New Jersey?"

It could mean anything, such as;

The universe seen from the earth!

The abode of God, the angels, and the souls of those who are granted salvation

A condition or place of great happiness

To do everything possible to bring about something desired
