...going to movies, renting movies, ect. ? Since we all know they are over paid and living too good a life for doing nothing and 'pretending' to be someone they arent, Americans should just boycott them all. Even athletes. Its just so pathetic. How long are we as a nation going to sit here and support this? Many of us our hard working people making not nearly enough to support ourselves, our families, and to have a experience some of the finer things in life. But at the same time, we support and are in awe of these 'regular' people we call celebrities. They are human just like us and have as many flaws as we all do, yet some of us nearly worship them. I think its time to take a stand to stop this madness. These arrogant bastards enjoy the finest things in life and still complain about money and how hard they have it. Or they just rub it in basically and talk how great they are. Not to mention, thier status as celebrities gets them get out of jail free cards and numerous other free sh

LOL To quote ole "Slick Willy" Clinton; "I feel your pain", though I don't personally get as heated about the subject. I suspect the advent of celebrity endorsed charities, and political movements is, I suspect, the celebrity's way of tryin to atone for how much THEY have and others don't. Their bankrolls are often obscene, and their causes often silly and naiive. I halfway suspect that the recording industry would use it's power to have our government FORCE us to pay and watch movies. I remember the federal trade commision publishing the findings from it's investigation: They found that the music area specifically, had clearly been artificially maintaining an inflated price for their product, and putting out optical media (cd's) that were substandard in quality, and more prone to scratching than was reasonable. They could'nt SAY it was deliberate and done so we'd have to buy the same product twice, but it was between the lines. This is known as "gouging" or "price fixing". and it's or manipulation, as the industry is the only source..... This is illegal and in many cases criminal. Not only did it not stop, it's gotten worse. I've heard of, but not confirmed that legislation was passed to include a digital "Tag" included in H.D. broadcasts, and recording equipment will be required to have circuits to read and prevent one from recording BROADCAST hdtv! We all know that the U.S. is transitioning into HD only signals. This is in effect the government siding with the recording industry, and pissing on the current 'fair use" laws. It's bad enough to have my wallet raped every time I wanna watch a movie, but our government is in effect saying "Shut up and enjoy it"
It'd be unfair though, not to note that some of the famous use their money and fame in some pretty cool ways.
Harrison Ford: Being a certified helicoptor pilot, and owning his own whirley bird; has a private line for search and rescue to call him if they need a bird to "dustoff" injured or those stranded in a place too inaccessible even for the "high angle" rescue crews. When asked why, he said "I have the chopper, am qualified to fly it, and can easily afford the cost. It'd be irresponsible, and wrong NOT to help"
Tom Hanks: (my favorite actor, and person among actors) Became fascinated with WWII history and bravery in general after an epiphany brought on at 18 by a doorman coworker "frank". Frank explained that he'd not been on vacation, but had gone to Europe to participate as at 18 frank had been a soldier on those very beaches. T.Hanks explained that at the time, he'd been flat out self pitying over school, gfriend trouble etc. Hanks, learning that the quiet Frank had been the same age, seen some of the most horrifying sights a human can imagine, and doing so simply to serve........ Hanks said he felt ahamed of himself, and became fascinated. His roles in military films, are a way of helping us to see the reality of what those vets saw and did. Making sure we don''t forget how much we owe them.

And what's the down side to bewing a celebrity - Think about it!! The more popular they get the less freedom they have. Celebrities sacrifice so much just because they're good. Call the money they get as compentsation for the life they will never have.
And who knows, this may be the last time they do so well.
My beef would be with the CEO of huge companies where they are comfortably making millions and millions ever year and nobody knows them.
Just because celebrities have the spotlight doesn't give you the right to condemn them. Trust me - I wish I had they're good fortune - but it comes with a price.
But I'm not jealous.
And thanks for the great movies.

I understand your frustration, but they get paid because so many fools spend the money to watch, so they become big money producers. Even more so, why do people pay so much for food and drinks at the movies. I bring my own (have to keep it hidden), as I refuse to pay $3.00+ for a drink and with popcorn it is more than the movie. Call me cheap, but I work hard for my money!!

I agree with you but to the some extent. yes! its true they are over paid but don't forget they dance and act for us. We see their movies to release our tensions and to get some entertainment from our daily routine life. so, we should not treat them as a celebrities. They are just actors and actresses, this is our mistake to treat them as celebrity and taking them as brand ambassdors.

If you really want to boycott them then do not stop yourself to get entertain from them but treat the right person of your choice to be your celebrity.
