Why do we all love reality tv so much?

Is it because we are all nosey or is it a boring life and we find watching someone else's more interesting?

I say i can't stand it but for some reason i find myself watching it. Especially the celeb ones.

I think that the ratings show that there are an awful lot of people who have lost their drive and imagination to fulfill their own lives, It's very easy to sit in front of the telly and watch a programme, but to become engrossed in a programme watching others just (bearing in mind those people on the reality tv shows, particularly BB are as shallow as they come) goes to show that how shallow the person is who is watching it. Even an hour a day say 4 days a week of this sh*t is mindblowing when you times it by say 15 years of someone's time that's 3120 hours of mindless pap, which has achieved absolutely nothing whatsoever!!

I have seen a few reality programmes, and my time spread across all the progammes i've seen over the last few years is about 5 hours so no comments on how would I know if I don't watch them. I don't watch them but I have seen them.

Oh and people who sat they compare themselves to the people on these shows, get a life. Is life about comparing yourself really. Would it not be more satisfying to try to lose the drive to be conceited and just be who you are rather than who you think you want or should be.

It is easy entertainment with so many channels u can find programs on just about anything. It is a lazy option i have watched max 2 hours tv a week in the past ten years. I go to the cinema very rarely and watch an odd good movie and some sport like the world cup There is so much better things to do with your time look at your alternatives i am going to watch TV when i am very old and can do v little else

People have little to do to watch these shows, what happened to actually learning something from telly.
Perving on idiots is a mindless activity and a waste of time.
These shows are also very cheap to make so the tv stations are laughing all the way to the bank.

I use to like reality TV. But then they started to over do it. It was cool with Survivor 1. But now there is a Reality TV show For EVERYTHING.

Its just another market that has been overdone.

Who here cant wait for survivor 12? ( i lost count after they had like 3.... )

Yeah, Reality tv annoys the hell out of me. If i do watch it, Im being forced by my girlfriend, or Im with a group of guys and we are making fun of it, and that lasts for 20 minutes. I dont want to be catagorized as a RTV kinda guy.

I don't, I like I'm a Celebrity get me outta here. But that's only because of Ant and Dec make it sooo funny! Big brother has to be the worst, they stick em' in a house and they sleep and eat all day, how on earth can that be classed as entertainment?

I can't stand it. When I want reality tv, I'll watch the news. Does anyone really think these shows are for real? These are just shows with producers who don't want to hire decent writers.

actually, most people dont. the networks boast that "70 million people watch our shows!" but in reality, there are about 350 million people in the US. that's really only about a fifth of the entire country. therefore, you can't really say "we ALL love reality TV" because 4 out of 5 people hate it.

try NFL that is the best stuff to watch great hits and better catches start sept 7th Dolphins stomping on the steelers and yes i am biased and will say the dolphins will always win

becuz their life is more interesting than ours and they make it addicting so that you cant just watch 10 mins and turn it off. you must continue watching and see the whole season. i myself watch reality shows all the time. w/e i like it. lol
