Beckham had achieved a lot, and given that Manchester United is a business it probably made sense to sell him abroad at the point when he was most valuable. But why then did Manchester United make Real Madrid pay anything like a fair price for Beckham? Madrid got the money back within weeks from their merchandising.
Real Madrid has been good for Beckham.
