I actually have two questions. One: how do i trap a soul in empty soul gems. This includes the azura star. I got this stone from the azura shrine and i try to use it, but it says it doesn't have a soul in it. how do i make it useful. Two: where is the Thieves Guild?

1: to trap a soul, you have to cast soultrap - you either need to learn the spell (from one of the mages guilds - don't know which), or use a scroll.
Once you've cast it, go kill a monster, and its soul will be trapped in one of your gems - as long as you kill it before the spell runs out, of course.
2. The thieves guild is everywhere. You have to get invited to join it - to do so, steal something, get caught, and someone will give you a note, inviting you to a secret meeting.
OR
the easier way (imo) is to get in good with the homeless. talk to them, get them to like you, and ask about either the thieves guild or gray fox. anyway - they'll tell you about how you can join - it's a midnight meeting in the water district

I play WoW and Fallout three, identical to you, i didn't get plenty out of Fallout three. HOWEVER i've performed oblivion for over 250 hours and there's simply such a lot to do. You might get extra out of Fallout three for those who attempted to uncover all of the part quests. Anyway, i feel Fallout three is an O-K sport, however oblivion is a FANTASTIC sport. GO get it.. consider to shop for the GOTY version so that you get all of the DLC :)
