Here are some ways to search for someone:
1) Do a white pages search on the last name, in places where she lived, and call any and all names that come up, tell them you are looking for (name) and can they help.
2) Sign up at one of the highschool reunion places (like classmates.com) and see if she is registered from her highschool.
3) Pay one of the people search websites to get all the info you can in one place ... it may be worth the cost ... they have access to places easier than you do because that is what they do. Make sure it is a reputable one.
4) Most newspapers have their archives available online for a small fee, and you might be able to find articles with her name, such as marriage and birth announcements.
