I have been married, raised my children, and am now divorced. I went through one week of "empty nest" syndrome when the younger child graduated and moved out. Now I am so please with my life and having the freedom to do what I want when I want that I have no plans of every getting married again. I love being able to come home to my house and not deal with another person's attitude. I enjoy dating and being with men, I just don't want to live with one on a full-time basis. I'm 53 and hope to have a lot of years ahead to enjoy the life I've earned.

Common for people coming out of an LTR to give up on the whole thing. Many will not even date or even consider a date and think of marriage and relationships as evil and to be avoided. Natural reaction. You got bucked off the horse and are pretty bruised up. Last thing you want to do is get back on that horse right now.

Unlike riding a horse it's generally good for you to take a break. Not go numb, but take some time off and stay single and not even look for women for a time. When it's right to jump back into things you'll do it without thinking.
