Golies have the same personality as humans do--eat variety of food, nutrients, flavours & Ur special tender care. Here's the dinner for U golies:
#1. Tubifex worms & other worm-like food. Remember birds like these too? Coz they are meat, & this really helps golies grow. But they don't know how much they eat each time> So U have to control their appetite--they'll die misearbly if they eat too much.
#2. Biscuties, muffin flakes, & every other kinda snack cracked into flakes U can buy at a mall. Tasty, fish loves that. But be sure the flakes are not to hard to bite. & be sure U wash U hands first then feed them.
#3. Cooked Rice. This recipe is for grow-up fishies only> Small ones can't swallow big stuff, so they end up going to hospitals. Don't feed them sticky ones. Those will easily glue to the fish's mouth.
#4. Anything that's eatible for humans, anything that sinks down. Fish likes catching things that'are moving--even are sinking down. To teach new-born babies to eat, sink some tiny worms down to the tank & watch them catch.
#5. Be careful what they eat, never put dirts or those tiny jumping bugs-looking thing in. They'll kill the fish. I've once give those food to my fish, & had 30 funerals! Whaah.....tears/
Be sure to clean the food throughly too! Don't wanna see Ur fish in heaven. Keep them alive>

NO FLAKES. Absolutely no flakes what so ever. Most breeds of goldfish have swimming problems and the flakes will only give them a condition known as swim bladder disorder.
PELLETS are by far the most superior staple food that you can feed a goldfish.
Also, keep in mind that goldfish can only properly digest food with a lower pH. Goldfish mostly eat aquatic plants and they can be treated to an orange every now and then. Roughly, their diets are 80% green.
Tubifex worms would only provide the fish with bloat.

Floating Granules makes them exercise more so it can't be bad for them. I personally don't like the tubifex worms because, well they're worms. Fish are fish, as long as they are eating, food isn't your problem. Keeping the tank clean is your #1 priorty in order to keep them happy and healthy!

Hiya. I have had goldfish for years, they eat almost any bits and bobs that they can find in the tank but I do feed them goldfish flakes. What they tend to really relish are bloodworms (which can be bought at local pet shops) or brine shrimp. These last two are forms of protein the fish need, especially if you're trying to breed them (august being their breeding season) If you are trying to breed them, key in 'breeding goldfish' into any yahoo search engine and select one of the links. For two months prior to August you'd need to feed them protein only if you intend breeding them. Otherwise, the flakes suffice nicely. It is a good idea to feed them something other than flakes once a week anyway. In this way they are ensured a healthy physique which helps when they get ill, it gives them a better chance at survival when they're otherwise strong and healthy. Best wishes, Whizzdom

Goldfish are omnivorous and could eat all varieties of dried and stay ingredients. cut back protein, in spite of the shown fact that, to 30% of the nutrition recurring. A Goldfish flake or pellet nutrition will grant those fish with the right food.

They have a 5second memory...they won't remember, so it's okay. But I think goldfish flakes and a floating granule or two for each goldfish depending on their size.

I had goldfish once. I always feed them with floating granules. Actually they are omnivore. They can eat everything that fit their mouth. Just make sure don't overfeed them. Feed them twice a day and as much as they can eat in 5 minutes.
