don't try to kill the ball. just hit through it. if you try to get under it too much you will just pop it up.

what we did it may not make since in writing. have you ever played playstatiion and there was a batterbox of 6 squares.
we would put 6 plates on the fence where the square were to go this is where you need to have the certain pitch at a certain heigth and this is where the ball will generally go. Placing the ball, in other words. we would put 2 balls in our hands kind of like holding a bat. then we would swing throwing the ball to a certain target. I know it sounds crazy in writing but this is how i learned how to place the ball. this is kind of generalizing the term throw your hands at the ball when batting. outside ball swing a little bit later on an outside pitch inside swing a little bit earlier inside pitch. I'm a right field hitter. don't worry about the gay thing. A lot of guys in the U.S. play softball.

pop the hips and pull with left hand(if a right handed hitter) the other way if a left hand hitter
if you are going to opposite field then kind of acting like you are going to push the ball there is less pull

Before you get in the box to hit see how fast the pitcher throws. The faster the pitcher throws the further back you stand in the box. Keep your eye on the ball and when the pitcher releases the ball you take a step with one foot and pivot with the other. If you are a right handed batter then you step with your left foot and pivot with your right. If you are a left handed batter then it goes the other way. By doing that, you have more power and you are not just using your arm strength. This will help you lift the ball a lot further. Hope this helps.

In softball I figure you have to hit the ball hard, but NEVER, EVER try to kill the ball, the softball flys much better than a baseball and it's bigger, but anyway go for contact, not for power(works for me)

Learn to hit to the opposite field. Will help you out a ton. You have to keep your hands back and near your body. Everyone puts their worst fielder in right field, and worst infielder at second base. If you can put it on that side, you should be good to go.

Keep your eyes on the ball, and swing THROUGH the ball. Make sure that you hit the ball SOLID.

Keep your head down and your hands up. When you swing, turn your entire body. It will help drive it further. Swing level and extend your arms.
