Black eyeshadow isn't going to make you attractive, but it will get noticed. I'm just not sure you'll be happy about what people think about it.
Maybe you can find a compromise so that your stepmom and sister can help you find a little balance, but you get to remain true to yourself.
You might consider the idea of a lighter color on your eyes, like purple, then rim your eyes with a Kohl eye crayon. They're like eyeliners, but thicker. Then you can smudge it out in a sideways V away from your eye and actually make your eyes look bigger. Don't overdo it, cuz a little goes a long way. That way you get a little black, but don't look like Alice Cooper with a hangover.

Go easy on the black eye shadow. Use a little smudge of it on your top lash line and keep the shadow under the eye to a minimum. The key to looking good at your age is to not overdo it. My mother was right -- when you wear too much make-up at your age, it makes you look like a tramp. Keep it simple and sweet. Use a lighter lip and cheek color, and keep your look fresh.

In many cultures in the world first of all, at your age you shouldn't be wearing any makeup at all; secondly, the purpose of makeup is to enhance one's beauty -- not to look like you have a black eye. I'd say wait until you are in high school or after and then decide whether you like black eyeshadow. Enjoy your childhood naturally (it doesn't last very long)!!

Maybe try a bit more natural colours. I started wearing make up to school at the age of 15, so your not far away. Try maybe more redish browns, and light browns. If you realy want to wear your balck... Do it only on the corners of your eyes. Not the entire lid.

actually! i'll't stay without my Mary Kay Coal eyeshadow! you are able to create such diverse different seems with it.of direction it is going to coach our pores and skin... believe me this seem will coach on our pores and skin... even the darkest people isnt extremely black, we r only various of colorations of brown! For a authentic moody seem, u can basically artwork the the black by technique of itself by technique of making use of it on the eyelid, basically as a lot because the crease and then end off the seem with a black liquid liner and lashes of mascara. Or for an afternoon seem, you should use it to create a smoky result. this time use any shade u like as your accent shade (regardless of the reality that u contained in the mood for or a colour that suits your suitable) and note that on your eyelid. then get your black and dab on the outer nook of your eye and then blend inwards (in route of the centre of your eye). i'm hoping that helped and made experience!!!

all I know is that dark colors make your eyes look smaller.
and don't wear too much during the day! wear it to parties and such, since it's more evening wear.

where are you putting the eyeshadow?
if you are using it as an "eyeliner" then i personally think it is fine
if you are putting it all over your lid and or to the brow bone then i would say STOP! lol. just do what you like! :)
