Never heard of that but you can go buy a home test to see what you get. It is normal if you are pregnant to have other tests done.

Many pregnancies are confirmed by ultrasound. If an OB/GYN has a portable ultrasound in their office, many are more apt to use it than the tests. Besides, the ultrasound is included in the doctors visit bill, and the tests are always a separate bill. Saves money! And besides, an ultrasound is more accurate than any pregnancy test.
The tests that you have to go back for are just routine tests - that have nothing to do with the pregnancy test. These are blood tests to ensure yours & your baby's health. The tests are normally done on or after the 1st prenatal exam.
Since your OB has a portable ultrasound in her office, consider yourself lucky. You'll be getting a ton of ultrasounds, whereas most people only have one.

If I recall right, the conclusive test is generally the scan. Normally the scan is done in the end if the urine test result was positive. If the scan says it is positive for pregnancy then there is no need to do the other tests unless you enjoy doing these tests...are you hoping to be surprised with the result of each test?

I had scans done early in my pregnancy when they couldn't get the heartbeat. If there is a baby on the ultrasound then I would guess that everything is ok. Did you question your Dr?
