Probably it's true. There are countries the average population hardly has any intellectual challenge - and no training.

If the population lives from farming and never has to read, write, calculate or take complex decisions, of course the IQ is smaller than in the industrialized world.

You don't name your source. I wonder why. And even so, I would question how this IQ was measured. After all, the only IQ tests I know are written ones, at least if you don't have the manpower to go test people in person. So the bias is toward those who are literate. But intelligence cannot be measured in terms of literacy in areas where the people have no opportunity to learn to read. And literacy is a very different thing where there are very few books in your native language, and they are not readily accessible. Contrast that with people like us, who have the opportunity to amass a huge personal library, even at very little cost (using second-hand stores and garage sales). People who are on the Internet are necessarily a small subset of all the world's population, and even here, the vast majority of material is in English.

So the likelihood that this list represents anything other than prejudice is vanishingly small. For example, you have ranked Israel four points below the US. What's your theory as to how that could be true? And how do you create an IQ test for animals at all? If you can, how could you compare it to humans?

May be. May be not!!
It is hard to sample enough people to have the real average score. Your sample can be pretty biased. You can test people in Bangkok or a tiny little village in the middle of nowhere and get skewed results.
What difference does it make?
There are some smart and dumb people everywhere. People with low IQ can be nice and very helpful to you when you need certain kinds of help. When you want great Thai food, you don't ask the Physics professor to cook you dinner. The chance is they can't cook really well ( a few might).
You may feel better living in a place where you are one of the smartest guy but the atmosphere may not be interesting or challenging.
On the other hand, when you are the most stupid person, people may just ignore and even make fun of you.
Do the best you can do wherever you are and with whoever around you!!

I wonder how I'd fare on an IQ test that was created by someone from the Congo? I imagine that I'd look like a bit of a moron.

Remember, IQ tests are desigined to test what an individual in an industrialized nation SHOULD know at a given age. The countries on the top of that list all have standardized schooling, while the ones on the bottom do not.

It is not. the countries listed higher on the list tend to have only their very smartest take the test and send the idiots to work in the fields. the countries that scored lower had only the morons with nouthing to do take it while the smart ones were doing smart things and had no time for it. places like equatorial guinea scored low cause the smart ones werent about to fall for the "make them think their taking an IQ test then shoot them as soon as they go into the classroom" trick.

What's the source for that? The IQ is calculated on people passing the test not on the people who could have a higher IQ and doesn't pass the test. Statistics can be manipulated easily and misused with racist or sexist purposes

Before accepting any information as valid you should check where the information came from, who provided it to you... and what is their ultimate reason for giving the information....

I think you will find this information is someones method of trying to make a point.... it is a sad racist effort...
