HAMAS stands for HArakat Muqawamah ASlamiah (Islamic Resistance Movement). The philosophy behind it is that to fight colonial power of America & Israel (no difference) who are occupying Palestine, Islam should be in the forefront of it beacuse America & Israel using Religion and radical christian and Jews to justify their barbaric mass killing of Plaestinians.

Could it be HAM AS? Harakat al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyya a political residence movement who wanted to get rid of the crouped leaders in Palestine. They won the election, but was not recognized by the world and now is an other war going on. They did not have a chance to show if they were serious or not.

it was founded when the Israeli occupation toke place in Palestine the 1st goal of the organization was to protect Palestinian people and resist the occupation, by years it became an official organization.
