Why do women spend so much money on handbags? do they not know that no man on earth ever even notices, gives a sh1t what bag they have? My ex had some Louis Vuitton bag which she loved, I hated it, ugly thing, and every other wannabe had the same one (ok, I'm contradicting my point that we don't notice here - but only coz she pointed it out to me)

Personally I use a handbag to carry things like my purse, mobile phone, my work diary and liltte telephone book.
Your question suggests that we hope a man will notice them. I think you are missing the point, women in general only want their peers to notice their handbag, your example of the Louis Vuitton, only chavs use these and no proper lady would be seen dead with one clutched in her hand. I agree with you they are ugly things.

High priced handbags and shoes are a con!
I love bags, we need something to put all our girly stuff in, and its great to match up with outfits..... sorry guys, handbags are not something we carry to impress you..... but to impress other girls!
Don't ever buy your girlfriend a bag.... but you could offer to go shopping with her for a different one, or check out Butler & Wilson Bags on QVC.... along with a whole host of others.... you won't even have to tag along around the shops with her!

Something to match my outfit and hang on my arm, plus it holds my wallet, keys, and other junk. I don't get namebrand all the time if it looks cute I will buy it. But do have a good Dooney and Burke bag that will go with everything. That just shows I can spend money and its popular.

Men spend big bucks on getting a well reputed handgun or shotgun. Well we weild our purses as weapons if we need too. Don't want to have your purse to jam up on you and break a strap when you need it most!
My thing isn't purses. I have to have high grade shoes, not poorly constructed ones either. Or ones that are high dollar just because of the label. I mean genuinely good shoes.

The same reason you guys like motorbikes and cars!! you can tell alot about the girl by the handbag she carries and whats inside it just like you can tell alot about the man by his car!!! classy doesnt have to be top dollar either.

Without our bag, where would us girls be. Bags are handy for us, to carry our make-up a brush, the organiser and even our tiny little pouches in. We update our bag time-to-time to upkeep with fashion and our own personal contents.

they buy all different kinds types and it can be used with any outfit i suppose they just like the look of them its like men going to the pub thats there hobbie and girls are shopping for handbags

they think they're a fashion statement but they're also useful for keeping things in. When i go 2 town i always need a bag that size for wallet, phone etc. etc.
