ant poison

First, i would recommend a professional exterminator to identify the ants. There are differing treatments needed depending on the type of ants. Carpenter ants require a different treatment than say fire ants. Most exterminators offer a free home inspection.
A really good perimeter treatment around the home's exterior is usually the order of the day with almost all species. The ants have to come from outside, either thru a weephole or traveling up the siding into the attic.

Ants are very, highly organized creatures or being. They live in territory & have a very way of communication. They have the ability to go far in search of food & still come back to they home base. To get rid of ants from your kitchen, u start by dostroying they homes around the building in which u live. Ants don't like people tampering with they homes, if u do that they will quickly change location. Then inside the building, including the kitchen, u can use any simple chemical like kerosine on them. Ants like moving in single line which they make for easy transfer of food home to they young ones, they queen & the king.

Another way is through the use of fumigation.

I have the same problem but did you know that ants don't like powdery substances (including powdered sugar)? For example, if you draw a circle with chalk around an ant, it won't cross over the circle you drew. With that being said, put some sort of white powder where you're likely to get ants. They won't go near there.
One time my mom bought a variety of donuts and left them in the donut box it came in. The next morning the ants got in the box and were all over the donuts except for the powdered sugar ones. It's also a good idea to make sure you have a clean kitchen. Soap it down/wipe all the counters clean. Don't leave dirty dishes in the sink. That way the ants won't have a reason to be there. Of course, ant spray kills ants but my dad discovered that Windex also kills ants. It's just not as strong as ant spray and it doesn't smell strong like ant spray does.

they're called Terro ant traps (liquid ant baits, come in a bright orange box) and you can buy them at any hardware or home & garden store like Home Depot, Lowes, etc.. They contain sugary liquid with poison. You can buy them in packages of 6 traps each. You cut along the dotted line with scissors and then place them around the kitchen. The ants will be attracted to them, start to eat them and then signal the rest of the ants to come there and eat them. there will be so many ants there, but DON'T kill them. I know - it's hard to resist the urge to just smoosh them all! Let them eat the poison and take it back to the nest. when they get back to the nest they will poison the rest of the colony including the queen -- yeah! If the ants don't look like they want to go in the traps then you can pour the liquid out and put it on cardboard pieces. It will take a few days and suddenly all the ants will be gone, and then you can clean up the traps.

Oh, it would really help if you figure out where the ants are coming in your house. Try to follow them around and track them to their point of entry. You should put a trap there.

If you don't like poison, I heard that lines of dish detergent deter ants, also double sided scotch tape.
You can also sprinkle non-toxic ant powder around, I think it's made of crushed silica or something that cuts the ant's bodies apart. Boric acid also works pretty well.. the ants crawl around in it and it kills them and the colony.

Buy those little ant traps(by Raid) and set them around where you have seen the ants. It will take a couple of days but you will start to see them decrease; also put some around the outside of your doors.

Buy some anteaters on eBay and let them loose. Then go on Yahoo Answers and ask "How do I get rid of anteaters?" The answer to that: liquid nitrogen or a sjambok from www.coldsteel.com.
