Neither...the ashes go directly to the floor and I can open bottles with my teeth...I don't need things like that...

I personally, get more use out of an ashtray simply because I smoke cigerettes and usually drink my beverages out of a can or plastic bottle. Once in a blue moon I will use my bottle opener but rarely.

ASHTRAY! I smoke! Last week I tried to quit smoking and I did it for 4 days but I found I was eating EVERYTHING in the house and I certainly wasn't hungry! Something was making me eat, eat, eat to fill something my body was craving, also I had a terrible time sleeping, just tossing and turning all night long, and I was bitchy with everyone! Do you think it was nicotine withdraw? Well in 4 days I gained 12 lbs., so I went back to smoking and everything is now back to normal! I'll have to get help next time I try to quit! Just thought I would tell my story!

It depends on which you do more of... smoke, or drink from bottles with caps that don't twist off. I would say the majority goes to ashtrays.

the bottle opener has collected dust since my last Guinness run....think I can fit about another pack in this ashtray before I have to empty it

Me personally, I don't get use out of either. I don't smoke because, well, that is just disgusting and if you want to kill yourself, there are other ways in which do NOT harm others too. Anywho, yeah, if I had to choose one I'd say the bottle opener because one time I used one.....I think. Okay, well ya.
