I moved to Mississippi from Minneapolis last year, and these people are just driving me NUTS. I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, and I'm not saying all people from the South are ignorant. There are just some things... Like whenever we order food at a fast-food restaurant, they always always ALWAYS get the order wrong. And why is everybody so excited about hunting? They act like its actually fun! And what is the meaning of "The South will Rise Again."? I mean, rise to what? It never rose, and it never will with all these ignorant people here.
Wow, that turned into a rant. Well, I guess its good to vent! =D

So are you missing Minneapolis now?
Minnesota is one of the more educated states and Mississippi has been in the list of the less educated states for quite some time.
Stop going to fast food restaurants, you're smart enough to know that junk will kill you!
"The South will rise again," is a chunk of blatant racism. They lost the right to keep slaves and that's what they'd like to return to.
Well, I hope you can teach them a few things while you're down there.
Don't forget the South has great manners, you can teach people in the North some of those when you return for a visit.
Good luck!

Where do I begin to take apart that question...hmmmm
First of all, I don't hunt. I'm not ignorant either. I've been to the north many times where people were VERY unfriendly and screwed up our orders in restaurants as well. So making a judgement about that is pretty much pointless.
The south will rise again is just a way of saying that the south will dominate again...not that we'll beg for slavery. Geez, ignorance from the north.
Also, how many times have you heard of northerners asking us (people from the south) if we wear shoes and have indoor plumbing? Don't you think that is ignorance also?
It also depends on what part of the state you are in. I live on the coast. We were smart enough to begin rebuilding our homes and evacuate for the hurricane...I guess we have intelligence from somewhere, right?
Very little money is given to our school systems unfortunately. And some people in the south will never leave thier own home counties. What is the problem with that? Does it insult people?

Well I have lived in Tennessee all my life and I know what you speak of very well. You have to understand that the public school system in the South is not on par with the rest of the country... I bet kids in Bangladesh get a better education than we do here, it all goes back to the aftermath of the civil war, the states that seceded from the union didn't get as much federal money for schools and roads and such as the other states and it has just sort of snowballed in a bad direction from there. I feel like I should apologize or something but rest assured, there are some intelligent people here in the Southland, you just have to look a little harder than usual to find us. ;-)

Fast-food industry is the same where-ever you go.It's because they have all those new still wet behind the ears kid's working there. All they have on their minds is sex.Nothing wrong with that but please could you take a break and give me my big mac?I know what you are saying,I FEEL your pain!! I live in beautiful NC,and it's kind of like that.Except things are changing a gradually. As we get in more industry and trans-plants like yourself.we are getting better.I despise RED-NECKS,there should be a separate state just for them. And we could tell them that they did win the war and all that crap, about the south rising. They are referring to a Charlie Daniels song by the same name. But bro I really hope you will not judge the entire south by some backwards red-necks in MI.If you ever come east,to NC,look me up and we will go coon-hunting!LOL,hinson4694@yahoo

Ah definite, the persons distant places are ALL sensible, straightforward & harbor no ill will to minorities of their communities even as human beings are ALL inbreed, racist products of crap. because you're a overseas born minority, why the hell are you right here and under no circumstances distant places no matter if that is so "large"? The U.S. would not stop human beings from leaving (except on the no fly record), you could %. up and go away each and every time you want. did you recognize what, i have seen a similar prejudice / racism from German voters, French voters, British voters, Dominican voters, South Africans (direct at whites) & Costa Rican voters. In very nearly all of those cases (or the whites who used to rule in South Africa), that is directed at immigrants into their us of a (and they carry a feeling that those immigrants are a lot less then themselves). France has a wide inflow of South African muslim immigrants. Haitians immigrate to the Dominican Republic, Nicaraguans enter Costa Rica, there's a backlash against muslims in Britain and so on. between the topics with being on a severe horse is the lengthy fall to the floor. right here's somewhat lesson...humanity is "clannish". that is aside of our nature to lump human beings into communities & to imagine of ones "prolonged family individuals" as being extra ideal then yet another. some human beings ought to upward push above it yet IMO they don't. they purely style a "prolonged family individuals" of a a range of of nature (rather of it being depending upon race they purely shift it to being in accordance with politics..for instance ALL republicans might want to be shot / killed because they're ignorant trash).

think of a southerner coming up to say... new york, boston, or detroit. they see us moving around at a seemingly rapid pace, talking faster and more abrasive. we get straight to the point, so quickly that it seems rude. we dont wave or ask everyone how their day is going unless we actually know the person. down south it is the opposit. and i know fast food up here has gotten my order wrong a lot, it just happens.

The South's culture is way different from ours. I learned that when I went down there for vacation. God, I love the north. I think the meaning of "the south will rise again" is "slavery will rise again", it's a really stupid saying.

Dunno about the waitresses, but that bridetobe girl is funny. I'm willing to bet their police connection is some kind of Deputy Dawg. As for the south rising again, I sincerely hope not. It's not too long ago they used to ban blacks from even eating in the same places as them, and people like that don't deserve to rise to anything
