I've never been attracted to a student in the way you seem to be suggesting, but I am drawn to certain students. It's usually the students who need that type of positive attention.

There are some really attractive students, and I often think - who would they be good to go out with? Also cute girls often get my attention, as do the fotos of my stepsons I have up in my room. Gives us something to talk about. I also sometimes wonder, are they gonna turn out to be jerks like [so and so], even though they have all the looks and such?
Never has it been for personal attraction, it's more of observations and "predictions." Something a little bit deeper had to be going on with those teachers who have been in the news lately. Makes us all have to defend ourselves.

Of course teachers notice if a student is cute. I also think babies are cute. Just because a person notices these things doesn't mean they will do something bad. Teachers also notice a student who is wearing dirty clothes because their parents aren't washing them. Teachers notice who never has money for lunch because the parents can't afford it. We notice all kinds of things because we care about our students as children - even the teenagers. Many of my teenage students like to call me Mom because I keep after them and check up on their home lives. I simply CARE and that's why things are noticed.

I teach elementary school -- and I think you are asking about sexual attraction to a student. The answer would be NO. I have never found a student in the K-5 range sexually attractive. However, I will say that some students are easier to love than others. I definitely have had my favorites.

All the students are cute in their own way. You must maintain a professional distance from your students... you may like them, just don't cross any line. Those teachers who make the mistake of crossing lines lose their jobs and usually their certification; they'll never teach again.

Dear Just wondering, you are either a teacher, a student or possessive about someone who a teacher or student. I've heard/witnessed both teachers and students being infatuated be each other.

Very often. In fact when I first meet a class I begin with the presupposition that they are human beings who need something I can give, and that they are kind people who would like to be accepted. And it proves to be true. If a student is not kind, he/she has got the reasons.
In fact I fell in love with one of my students - don't be scared, he is older than me and he is my husband now.

I'm a Kindergarten teacher and all my students are cute. But if you are talking about cute in a sexual way, then no. We don't need more MaryKay LeTourneau's around.

From the first class we have the subjectivism is there, I mean we like more kids more then the others, they all catch us in a different way....But if you refer to attraction towards a student, it never happen or will ever happen to me...May be to my english teacher in highschool, it was obvious she was jealouse on a couple ( she was so nice toward him and a ***** toward her) ..that's sick!!!
