I have a daughter and I am currently pregnant delivering Aug 3 via c-section. With my first pregnancy I worried a lot, which most women do with their first. Every symptom I had seemed magnified. I developed high blood pressure and had to be induced...which ended up with me having a c-section. Most women are terrified of having a c-section...but I wouldn't delivery any other way. With this pregnancy I never had morning sickness or any other symptoms except heartburn. This pregnancy has been very easy and has gone by very fast. Being pregnant is amazing. However, be sure that your ready for the responsibility of it all. Having children has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I was 20 years old when I got pregnant with my daughter. My husband and I were only married 1 year before we got pregnant. I wish that I had finished going to college and had more time with my husband before starting a family...but like I said they are the best thing that has ever happened to me. Just take your time...don't rush into having children...finish school or any other tasks that you want to accomplish. It was so hard for me to go back to college after I had her...So make sure you have a degree or a stable job before you get pregnant...it's expensive having little ones. Good luck sweetie.

My husband and I got pregnant my LAST year of college (I went back to finish). I was seven months pregnant at graduation!
I had decided I was going to 'go granola' (you know, be one with nature and go natural... thousands of women since the dawn of time have done it so why can't I?)..... I gotta tell you... never have I felt something so intense.
I don't know how to explain it. It's not excruciating, like the pain you feel when you, say, cut yourself with a blade.... but it does hurt. At one point, I sounded so ludicrous with all my special breathing techniques, all I could think of was the character Dory from "Finding Nemo" when she speaks whale. I started laughing so hard I cried... the nurses thought I was a total lunatic. My sister-in-law and my husband understood though, so they laughed along with me. ;)
I ended up begging for an epidural... and cut it so close I almost wasn't able to get one. It was fabulous. Any other kids I have, it'll be an epidural all the way. yes. thank you.
Good luck with your pregnancy and delivery! The feeling you have when the baby finally is laid in your arms is indescribable. The joy I felt that day was probably the closest I can say I've come to understanding 'euphoria'.

i loved being pregnant. it had its downside, constipation from prenatal vitamins, heartburn, getting bigger and adjusting to your body's changes, but the experience was incredible. to feel your little child move in your belly, knowing that you were a mommy. watching him roll over under the skin, it is amazing. you learn the baby's patterns too like he got the hiccups anytime i ate sweets, and he was really active at night and not so much in the morning. and people are so courteouse to you when you are pregnant.
my baby was breech and they offered me the choice of c-section or an attempt to turn him, which is painful and puts stress on the baby, i opted for the c-section.
the c-section was scheduled for the next day. my husband and i couldnt sleep, we were awake until 2 am talking. we finally fell asleep and at 2:30 my water broke. we went to the hospital and i had no labor until i got there. an hour later i was in surgery. my c-section went very well and my son was 9 pounds 7 ounces. he was the most beutiful thing i ever saw. i loved him already. i spent the next 3 days at the hospital.
the day i went home i was out shopping. i had some pain, but it wasnt bad. i spent many, many hours just staring at his perfect little face. i still do. now he is 5 months old. he is the best thing that ever happened to me aside from my wonderful husband. we want another baby in a year or two.
being a mom really makes life beutiful. good luck to you.

It s like Freddie Kruger trying to escape from your body!!!! I'm just playing! Everyone's pregnancy is different, some people have long labors and some short. Some with pain some without. Make sure you take la-maze classes, breathing through your contractions will help ease some of the pain(but not all of it!) As for the contractions ( what it feels like) Think of the day you had the worse case of period cramps, now combine that with the day you had your worse episode of gas cramps x10 That's Labor Good Luck with your pregnancy.

Congratulations!!
I found being pregnant wonderful...the knowledge that you are creating a new life is amazing and when you begin to feel the baby move...well, it just makes everything worthwhile! Some of the other stuff can be awful, the sickness and tiredness at first, then the 2nd trimester is usually ok before the aches and pains start. The worst thing about pregnancy I found was in the last few weeks when you can't lie down because you can't breathe, sitting up makes your back hurt, and the indigestion!! Yuk!!
Childbirth is terrifying, no matter how many times you do it. The pain is such thaty you just can't descibe it. BUT.....the result is truly amazing, and as soon as you hold that wonderful new life in your arms you forget all the pain. Hope all goes well for you.

I won't lie to you it hurts like hell, hell is not the word. But as bad as the pain was I really can't say that I can think of it and truly remember how bad I felt I know I felt good once he came out. I do remember that once the after birth is out the pain is gone just like that. What ever you do, do not eat once you go into labor thinking you'd better eat because they don't feed you or give you water once your in labor at the hospital, You will be embarrassed if you eat because with all the pushing you will crap on yourself. Good luck. Hope you have a healthy normal and beautiful baby boy or girl.

i was overdue by 6 days and they were the worst 6 days of my life. i went to the doc on my due date and she said that we would give it a week but then i had contractions that whole week and the hospital kept sending me home because my cervix would not open so i was in pain. i kept feeling like i had to use the restroom but nothing would come out and finally i went to the hospital and told them that i had not slept in 4 days and the doc gave me some medicine to get rid of the contractions and while i was getting dressed my doc came in and said," why are u getting dressed?" and i told her"cause i am going to go home and get some rest" and she said no you're not you are going to have this baby so i had to have my baby and suprisingly it didn't hurt as much as i thought it would. i just couldn't figure out how to push.(push like u are going to the bathroom) good luck it is a memorable thing.

it's like you have to $hit real bad and you have your period at the same time. it's like bad cramps you get in the winter plus a stomach virus all at once. you are kind of out of it. either real cold or real hot. the pain comes and goes. like a cramp. it's the worst period ever and just like that it's over and you are looking down into a crying face which you will see for many months to come.
you know if you start hurting real bad tell them you have herpes and you broke out 2 days ago. they will give you a ''C"
talk to your grandmothers find out how long they were in labor and there will be your answer

Sooo many questions from one little mind. And all about herself. Hmmmm....our group believes you were abandoned as a small babe in the lands of Borneo with no human contact, and thus you grew, like an empty vessel. There must be millions of things about yourself you have no clue about. Poor, empty Tammy.
