The Dirham, it is about 16 Dirham to £1at the moment. I'm off to Morocco in about 3 weeks, so that's how I know!!
The Dirham is used in Morocco (and therefore in Marrakesh). Major credit cards are accepted in major hotels but out on the streets and in the souks you will want to make sure you have the correct currency.
A great reference about where to exchange etc... can be found here.

The Morroccan DIRHAM is the local currency.
Though most bazaars and shops will accept pounds sterling, euros or dollars, they will give you an exchange rate not very favourable to you, so you had best change some money at the beginning of your stay,,.
Try not to have too much left over at the end of your trip, as you will find it practically impossible to change back into your local currency when you return to your own country.
Dirhams are not worth much outside Morocco.
Have a nice trip!
