go to a doctor?

my mom's having some pains in her arm... and it's daily... when i told her to go to a doctor she told that she already told her doctor about a long time ago and the doctor said that it's ok because it's just an effect of goiter/hypothyroidism... is it true?

I think she should get a second opnion at least. I myself dont necessarily believe that. My mom and my grandma both had that and didnt have that problem.
