Sweetheart, your sense of yourself as it pertains to men will come with time so don't rush it. Each and every person on this earth has a certain level of intuition, use it to your advantage. If your gut says not to do something don't.
For your info:
1* Any man worth having, will show you that you are an important part of thier life.
2* It is so important to get to know the person that you are interested in seeing before you take the relationship any further than friends.
3* Sex, can wait. I recommend until marriage. But at least until you are at the point in your life where you are at a committed relationship.

The problem is that you're too young; you won't find any guys your age who are able to sustain a serious relationship, and who do not have any psychological or emotional deficiencies.
