Memory is about recalling things in an orderly way 'at will'.
So, first we should really convince ourselves why we need to recall a thing. Then, observe to check if the mind is calm. Then slowly feed the thing into memory and tell yourself you need to recall it at will. Try recalling after a very short while. Keep checking it a bit frequently, to gain confidence. This practice, after some time will become almost like a second nature and effortless !

Photographic memory doesn't actually exist. Almost everyone who has claimed to have or was thought to have photographic memory was just using a memory technique very effectively. If you want to improve your memory, try using mnemonic devices. I say Google or Wiki it and you can find some good articles on it. Of course, some people with mental defects have what appears to be photographic memories, but that seems to be because of certain differences in their brain structure, and usual coresponds with a digression in other areas.
