she lives with her mother who has a known drug dealer living in her home among other people who stay at her house to babysit her 7 kid while she goes on the truck with her boyfriend. we have called dhs and cfys. no money for lawyer. what can i do?

Document everything the mother does that you feel is inappropriate. Keep trying to contact the police or Social Services. If worse comes to worse, call in a tip on the drug dealer.

What a situation! Maybe call the police and explain it to them and see what they say. If you can prove all this maybe the stepdaughter should live with you being as you are concerned?

Go to legal aid, they have a sliding scale depending on your income. Your husband has the right to see his child. Just go pick her up when the "mom" is missing. Call the cops if you have to. Strangers NEVER have more rights than a biological parent. Get custody immediatly.

Keep calling and calling. Try the police. Maybe if there is a police report something will get done.

Call SRS and the police immediately. Check with lawyers who do pro bono (free, or cheap work) to help you. You must do everything in your power to help your daughter.
