There are three more (that I've seen on TV) coming out. The Descent, Lady in the Water, and Pulse.

To me these movies are all basically the same, telling the same storyline over and over. The only thing different is they get gorier and more blatantly violent. What's your opinion on them?

I don't know but I think more of the younger generation are wanting to see the blood and violence. I like the old Alfred Hitchcock movies because they don't have much blood and gore in them. My fav is The Birds. Movies that have a lot of blood and violence make me sick and I can't stand them. I think that nobody should watch these movies because they rot their minds.

1) The advertisements they create for them are ridiculously misleading. 2) Hoping to see the next best horror film in forever.

You're right, most of them out have totally sucked. It's so dissapointing. Are they actually running out of ideas in hollywood or what? I haven't seen anythign good since Saw. And saw 2 actually reeked. And before that, The Stand rox my sox.

As a horror movies fan, I don't really care if they're "the same". As long as the effects are good, the actors are good, and the story isn't lame or stupid (or to Hollywood style), then it's fine with me.

i watched lady in the water and i loved it, it wasn't scary at all, but i love that it touched issues on spirituality, friendships n community.. it was more a fairy tale... but i do LOVE horror movies, like omen n the hills have eyes... i think people like the rush of being scared.. the thrill, the surprise... i mean it's a shock to see all the violence but that's part of the sick entertainment people like to watch, n it's fun to get scared n scream, u never know what to expect, it's like riding a roller coaster n that's fun... but i guess it's all a matter of preference.

i love horror movies, today's horror movies aren't meant to scare you it's all about blood gore and body count, they don't stand a chance against old horror movies like psycho or the birds. but i still love them and will continue to see them. but what the hay i say the more the merrier.

because it is entertaining and parts of movie genre. to me, hollywood's horror movie are not that scary. try to watch the thai's scary movie. they made their movie and story-line so REAL. Love watching the thai's horror movie because their story-line are so realistic and very sad of what's truly become that ghost. And their special effect also not that bad either.

I think all the new horror movies are overrated. They don't fill the audience with terror the way the classics do.
