Seeing as how our nation is actually a "democratic republic" Why is it our mission to go spread democracy all over the world? Many Muslims believe that Islam should be the primary type of government and policies should coincide with the Koran. With seperation of church and state being on of the primary principals of democracy. Why would Muslims support this? Any way you look at it this is a Holy War (all of it, Afganastan, Iraq, Israel/Lebanon/Hezbollah, and Iran in the future) Note: when the US says seperation of church and state it means seperate everything that doesn't conform to the religious principals this country was founded own. Does any one else think the US should stay out of all this, secure out borders and become self sufficient again????

I know this is much more complicated than this but Jesus Christ himself would be pissed at whats going on right now.

I'm not talking about sealing our borders and turning a blind eye to the world. I'm talking about securing our borders and staying out of conflict that does not concern us. We could still provide humanitarian aid and may be even peace keeping troops but on our terms and stop giving weapons to other countries.

Good question!

From 1980 -1988 a bunch of Iranian Muslims and Iraqi Muslims killed theshit out of each other.

In 1990 the Iraqi Muslims invaded and killed a bunch of Kuwaiti Muslims.

When "Papa Bush" liberated Kuwait from Saddam there was no mention about democracy, afterall Kuwait was a monarchy.

"Papa Bush" did not want to remove Saddam because he feared a "power vacume" in the region. Noshit?!

The good news for Iraq right now is the Sunni and Shiite Muslims are going to take a break from killing each other so they can go to Lebanon and kill people other there.

The Muslims hate each other, but they hate Jews more.

If it wasn't for oil that whole part of the world would be nothing but sand and bones, with an occasional camel roaming around.

No, no one nation can ever seal off its borders and turn a blind eye to the world. Those days are long gone. History has proven that the more countries share with each other the less likely there is to be war. Democracy promotes this cooperation. How a country gets there is not as important as if they can stay there, that is the true test.

I wonder that myself. What gives the US the right to "impose" its form of governing onto other nations of the world? Why is our way better for them?

I understand about getting rid of a tyrant and killer, but I don't understand why they then have to be made to model their government after ours. Doesn't the government realize that most of the middle eastern countries are ruled by religion, not by politics? It would be compared to the Catholics and the Protestants as opposed to the Republicans and Democrats.

We need to keep our noses out of other people's business. If they want our help, they will ask for it. Us just walking into a country and taking it over is not exactly what I would call the right thing to do.
