When I can't sleep, I lay in bed and imagine a flight of stairs, then in my imagination I start climbing the stair and with every step I imagine my self getting a little more tired, by the time you are at the last step you are so tired you fall asleep right away.

Well, it's 8:40 am here, and in a few hours I'll be flying to Russia.
Just drink milk, read a little (book, not peoples questions), and go to sleep.

If you really want to sleep, you need to avoid looking at a computer screen. Its too bright and your brain thinks its still daytime. TV is bad too. Go somewhere relatively dark and read a book or something. You'll fall asleep in no time.
