I don't want to know ways to fall asleep. I just want to know what you personally do when you find you can't sleep. Be original. May the brightest, funniest, most unique answer win.

I often go for a walk or cycle around my neighbourhood. Its really peaceful at night compared to daytime and I find it very relaxing. I sometimes head off somewhere with no lights so I can see the stars.

Not being able to sleep often happens to me. I mean that is why it is 1:30am in the morning and I am answering questions on yahoo. SMILE I find it to be true when I can't sleep it is really hard for me to function the next day. SO it is something I want to avoid. When I can't sleep I try and think less. IF possible. SMILE I try and relax my brain and only concentrate on positive things. This would not be: What am I going to do when I wake up? Oh, I should be folding my laundry and most importantly think about all the things I did wrong that day. That DOESN't encourage sleep but maybe nightmares. ha ha I just try and concentrate on things that make me happy. I think about my 2 precious children and how happy I am to have them. I sometimes even put some soft music on. Sleep is always hard to come by and there are always sooo many reasons why someone doesn't sleep. What you do before bed helps you sleep when you go to bed. Diet, Exercise, Time for yourself, less stress, and most importantly getting to bed at a decent hour so that you feel refreshed in the morning.

I get up and watch TV, or raid the fridge, sometimes I arm myself with several handguns and my bullet proof vest, and black clothing and walk around the neighborhood, looking for Meth heads, so I can offer them rehabilitation options when I catch them stealing someone's lawn furniture, or trying to break into someone's shed. Not a good way to struggle for sleep, but I really like the danger!

I'm having the same problem, which is really weird because I never have trouble getting to sleep. I'm watching CMT and wasting time on the computer, waiting until I fall asleep.

I visualize myself in a grocery store. I use the alphabet and start naming fruits and vegatables, in my head, in the produce section starting with the letter "A" and then, "B" and so on and so on.

You can't BELIEVE how many there are that start with the letter "C"!

Sometimes, to break the routine, I'll search my brain for things in the health aids aisle, starting with the letter "A" and going on from there....Advil, Anicin, Aleve, Aspirin,Ace bandages, Anti-acids, Aqua Fresh toothpate, Arm & Hammer toothpaste, etc.

When you can't think of anymore, go to the letter "B".

It is so relaxing because it takes your mind off of things we tend to worry about.

I guarantee, this works and SURPRISINGLY, You will most likely fall asleep before you go to the letter "D".

Sometimes I mentally go through the candy section or think of famous people whos name start with, "A", then, "B" and so on.

Try it! This really works GREAT!

mostly i got this feeling that i want to sleep but my mind cant.so sometimes i would imagine myself as a superhero like cyclops.i try to think of some scene like i would be discovered and ill be famous,hehe!sometimes i look back in my life like what will happen if i choose the other way or made another decision.the outcome is so confusing it'll make me tired thinking,then finally im asleep.

Most of the time, I call a massage therapist... light scented candles all over the room (aromatherapy)... and put some soothing music... and after a massage session I fall asleep right away.

1. I masturbate and once i'm done, I feel ******* tired and sleepy!
2. I browse through some of the nice smses i received from friends
3. I start licking my nose with my tongue
4. I'll start touching my roommate's crotch and enjoy seeing him getting a hard on when he's asleep- "he doesnt know till today "
4. I'll start shaving my pubic hair

I listen to music or do yoga............there are some technics that can help you fal asleep like.......

1 ....lay on your back and pull your butt and legs(sticking them straight up) off of the ground
2 ......support your lower back with your hands
3..... make sure your upper arms are touching the ground


OR

rub your heels against each other

Turn off the lights, TV, Computer.... etc..... drink a glass of milk, OR chocolate milk, fluff up the pillows, stretch out and relax...... try to think of where I'm going on vacation next (to get away from thinking of work, etc.) another good one is to think about what you'd do if you won the lottery....... hmm... nah, maybe that wouldn't work.

I play video games, I sing random songs, I walk around the house, I answer questions on here, I listen to music, I myspace, I call random people sometimes(I know that's rude lol), I excercise, I chug water, I play dress-up, I surf the internet, I play cards with my siblings, I write poetry, I talk to my good friend in Australia, I play with my cat, I tease my dog, I sit on my back porch.
