World of Warcraft is incredibly fun. I've been playing it for more then a year, and it hasn't gotten old. There are 8 classes and races, with their own strengths and weaknesses, and there is an expansion coming out soon, with two new races. There are 4 types of servers, Normal (PvE), PvP, RPG (PvE) and RPGPvP. So there's something for everyone.

As for addicting, my brother played for about 5 days straight, no sleeping/eating/leaving the comp.... I had to bribe him with food and drink to get him off....

If you do not want to pay subscription fees, then you should invest in Guild Wars cos after you bought the software, you do not have to pay any online fees. However your character is limited up to lvl 20 and 8 skill slots only. The game is more into how you strategize your skills to benefit the whole party. Its fun for those casual gamers who need an rpg fix after a hard's day at work.

If you are hardcore enough, then World of Warcraft is the mmorpg for you. Be warned that if you first play this game, you will be glued to your monitor screen for a few days. Make sure you have a friend to check up on you. You can tame pets, summon minions, go fishing, etc. The bosses can be huge.

Or if you find that elves, faeries and orcs are just too boring. You can always try City Of Heroes. You can customised your own superhero or supervillain. If you play as villain, you can have your own minions.

I would go for WoW.

it's fun, there are lots of ppl but most of all it's addicting like hell :p

you'll need some time to lvl your char but ones it get 60 the party can begin. You gonna have to found a guild and do 20-40 man instances with them. I can guarantee you, lots of fun and at least 5 hours needed to fully clear them :D (and this is with a guild that don't have any problems anymore with the bosses, imagine what it will be if the guild is still learning that instance :-) )

hope I gave you an answer which helped you :-)

Don't do Knights Online then. It is fun but hackers and dupers amuck.

There is Silkroad and World of Warcraft. The only complaint I have heard about WOW is the expense.

You can try Face of Mankind. Its more of a MMOFPS, but there is a lot of roleplay there, and 99% player based (No NPCs to kill, only PVP. Players make all items available in game. Players uphold the law, etc. etc.)
