Does naval piercing hurt and how long is the average healing process? Do you see any problem with a teen under 18 getting one? Give me your opinions.

on a scale of 1-10 its about a 3 the same as having your ears pierced. now healing time depends greatly on how good your piercer is, how good your jewelry is, how much you play w/ it, if your pants rub on it. many many factors! but for a complete healing i would plan on 3-6 months! mine took almost a year. now my piercer has been piercing for over 23 years and he refuses to pierce ANYONE under the age of 18. his reasoning is this......untill you are about 18-20 your body is still growing. this can really mess w/ positioning, the depth of the hole, ect. any piercing is a BIG decision, not to be taken lightly. i used to have {through the years} my nose. eyebrow, and labret all done. i dont wear any of them any more. not that i have anything against them i just didnt want to wear them. now i have holes in ALL of these spots that will NEVER go away. THINK long and hard before a tattoo or piercing!
now ive had my belly done for 12 years and had 2 babies since it was done and ill have it for years more to come...i think. but i think you should wait till you are 18. there is always time to have it done later and if you want it bad enough now youll still want it then too!

i got one when i was 15 and it didnt hurt that bad but on thing i can tell you is it will hurt a lot more if you watch them do it and the healing process is about a month if you take care of it like you are supposed to

Yes it hurts when it is getting done, but not so bad afterwards. they tell you it takes a year for it to totally heal for someone under eighteen I would say that its ok if your parents agree. dont do it behind their back, if they make you take it out it wont be worth it

when i got mine done, I didn't even know he had started it by the time he finished.....It as nothing, and the healing time for me was about a month.
If it does start to crusty and pussy, just get some epson salt and soak it and it will be fine
(however, if you don't like pain, NEVER get a nipple ring, that hurts)

I got one and it hurt bad! I mean, really bad! I will never forget that pain. It's worth it though. It took about a week for it to stop hurting when my pants touched it. They are so sexy though with a bikini. YOu just have to have one.

you should have your parents approve before a piercing your body. clean your naval out daily with hydrogen peroxide & alcohol, if you get it pierced.
