I don't know if the gecko is a male or a female. How do you tell? It's been fed these already dead mealworms (that you can buy in the store that comes in a plastic canister). also it's been given this vitamin type pellet. The geckos usually get fed twice a week (yesterday was one of those days).

it looks serious, whether it is boy or girl! before it can starve to death , which actually would take some time, it may die of thirst very easily. i repeat it looks serious. what kind of gecko? wait till he opens mouth or gently pry open the moutg and with plastic syringe squirt in mouth - water with a drip of honey, do this every day, maybe it will start him up. geckos generally love sweet things, so get some fruit, squash it with a drop of water and honey and place in right front of it. i bet it will prefer it to insects or to just water - sick animals frequently decide not to drink on their own .

so the skinny gecko was moved out of the cage?? if yes, immediately return him and move out the other. even healthy geckos are very uneasy if moved out!! i understand that they cannot be together, but for the skinny gecko it could have been just the last straw!

is it willing to eat on its own? or you have to persuade it somehow? apart from being skinny, does he move nmally, or is slow, with sunken eyes? tell us more

try live food, crickets or wax worms, not meal worms, they're a pain to feed live you have to crush the heads first. and offer him food every day. try a calcium dusting powder on the food, it will be easier for him to eat than the pellets. as for male and female it depends on the type of gecko. the only ones i know how to tell apart are leopard geckos, if you turn them over and look between the back legs you'll notice small dots is a v shape. these are called vents, the vents on the male are more prominent than on a female. also with the dead meal worms, do you keep them in the fridge? (you should) and do you allow them to warm up before you feed them?

You don't say what kind of gecko you have but the above is a good care sheet for one of the most common gecko pets in the USA.

I don't want to sound mean but does your gecko actually eat that crap you are giving them?

Geckos need LIVE food like appropriate size crickets, live mealworms etc.

You need to take that stuff back to the pet store you bought them from and ask for a refund! They probably won't give it to you but you can try! maybe they will let you trade it for live food.

The sex of your lizard is the least of your problems. You need to read up on the proper care of your gecko pet.

Good luck!
