No, I don't mean synonyms. Just BOAT SPELLING!

Question not vague and answer not vague either, you've just got to know it.
Take a word like "spelling", you do the following:
1. spell the word out one letter at a time as below.
.....................s
.....................sp
.....................spe
.....................spel
.....................spell
.....................spelli
.....................spellin
.....................spelling
2. You draw a sail around the letters and a mast. Then a the rest of the boat.
3. On the boat section, you write the word again.
Sorry, but I don't know how to draw a diag here or I would draw some to make it easier to understand.
Maybe the term will catch on and become part of educationese.
