how long after you start taking birth control pills (im on ortho try cycline lo) can you go without using a condom? ive been on it for 13 days is that safe?

Most doctors recommend that you be on the pills one entire cycle (a month) before using them as a sole means of birth control. That being said, if you are not married, please still continue condom use. Birth control pills do not protect you from any STDs.

You should NEVER have sex without a condom unless you are absolutely sure that you and your partner have no STD's. As for pregnancy prevention, only after your fourth week of your pill pack will you begin to be protected. But, please, don't ditch the condom. It's for your safety and your partner's.

Use BOTH condoms, for STDs, and birth control pills!

Birhcontrol pills do not prevent sexuallly transmitted diseases, condoms do, ya dope.

no. read the paper it gives you. it takes over a month to fully be in your system
