I'm only 18 and definately not trying to get pregnant so if this pill increases fertility I won't take it but my friend says it is one of the best multi-vitamin supplements over the counter and I'm trying to stay pretty healthy so....a little help please?

oh, btw, i recently stopped taking birth control pills and I use condoms but there's always that percentage that the condom will break. I just don't want to increase the chances of pregnancy more than are already.

You can only get pregnant by having sexual intercourse without using birth control, not by taking a multi-vitamin.

It's an old wives tale that Geritol increases fertility. Geritol isn't related to pregnancy.
Just make sure you are taking Geritol Complete. Geritol Extend is the one for the over 50 crowd.

Geritol is widely promoted by the Lawrence Welk set. I think there are better supplements these days. The affect on fertility does not matter if you abstain from sex. However, if you are sexually active and do not use protection of any kind you should be pregnant within a year - regardless of which supplement you use or don't use.

If you are on the pill it will prevent you from releasing an egg. But, as with any other supplements, you should talk to your doctor about if Geritol would make the pill less effective. If you aren't on the pill, you should be on it (or something similar) anyway.

I got pregnant from sex...never took vitamins. Seriously take your vitamins, use birth control, no correlation between Geritol & fertility.

Um...
Pre-natal vitamins (which may share some of the Geritol ingredients) help to ensure a healthy baby. But they do not increase ovulation (like fertility drugs).

It is a really good multivitamin. I am not sure about the fertility thing but I have a couple of friends who swear by it.

A multi vitamin can not get you pregnant. Its just vitamins and minerals. Do they not do sex ed in school anymore?
