How can women say they are NOT shallow?

Every women I've come across or read have mentioned a man has to be "tall" or "dark" or "handsome" or have "nice shoes" etc. etc. etc. How can having a prerequisite about what a man SHOULD or SHOULD NOT be NOT considered "shallow." It most certainly is.

IF...given two men are of equal financial status, intellect, style, and humor, but one is "fat and ugly" and one is "cut and gorgeous" we ALL know women would take the cut one first. So why do so many women on here say ...and I quote.."women aren't shallow, we just like what we like."?

So I'm seeing a lot of women belive that a way a man LOOKS is indicative of how he "takes care of himself." I suppose genetics does not enter into the fray. A man may be a big ol slovenly 400 lb. mess and no matter WHAT he does there is no chance of losing that "look." Does that make him LESS attractive? Of course it does. The fact that PC dogma is running rampant is no excuse for admittting it IS what it IS. (Oh, and FYI..toi the women. NONE of you would find me "attractive" no matter how funy or smart I were.)

Lady, you have no CLUE as to my "confidence" or my ideas. The fact that you believe you can "interpret" what is said and the meaning behind it shows what a shallow gender women can be.

Holy crap ANOTHER addendum:

Ok.. we're talking about the women who SAY "physically come and and voice" thjat they are NOT shallow. Such as "Oh my gawd, like you are so cool, but really you're like TOO tall for me. Not that I'm shallow or anything." I'm sure many of you BELIEVE you're not shallow, but the fact that certain criteria make or break a realtionship for you points to the conclusion that yes, women ARE.

For those that have SAID (or in this case "spelled" "I am not shallow") how can you honeslty believe that?

I couldn't agree with you anymore. Most women are in denial about being shallow. Men would take the hot chick before the ugly one as well, but we aren't ashamed of this. Women make some bs excuse to not look shallow, but everyone knows it.

Well I'm a girl and to be completely honest with u guys I used to be quite shallow too with guys when I was an early teen because all I ever expiearenced in guys was their looks than personality because most of them were jerks to me and were also shallow so I completely ignored their personality but then in highschool sophmore year I met this guy who was very nice to me and i was very shy and he was the complete opposite,not badlooking but he was a little bit over weight then I didn't care about his looks I started to look more inside since then and since I'm complimented alot by my looks than who i was inside,so it gets kinda exhausting when people only admire me for my looks than my personality so I guess that's why I started to look more into personality.And now when I hear people judge another based on their looks I feel like an *** for who I was before.

It's easy to be in denial when virtually every other woman and mass media constantly bombard you with a shallow value system and consistently label it as the exact opposite. It is largely society's fault, but women are to blame too for being too weak minded to resist the programming by developing a healthy sense of self-esteem.

I love the dishonesty the women here are showing. They know the vast majority of men are happy with whomever agrees to be with them.....have never EVER heard of a guy say that they refused a gal because of her breasts.....the idea is laughable. Here's the truth: A guy who's a "4" who turns down a woman who's a "4" is a shallow jerk. A woman who is a "4" who turns down a guy who is a "4' is "not settling for less" And NO ONE hates bigger guys more than a big woman.

They are not being shallow they are being tough. Trying to show people not to mess with them, fat people get ridiculed way to much. And not all women are shallow.

my best advice, as a navy man who has traveled the world, DO NOT date american women. they are without a doubt the most shallow and unapproachable females. going abroad and seeing how much better women are elsewhere was like waking up from a nightmare i didnt know i was in. ended up married to a beautiful italian woman. DO NOT waste your time with american women. truth hurts but its the truth.

Looks fade. In the end, it will be good conversation that matters. Also, if you get the ideal man other women will want him too. Better hope he isn't shallow too or he'll chase after other women at the first sign of wrinkles, gray hair, obesity, sickness, poverty, etc.

98% of single women: have a long list, want a taller man, a man built like a football player--by date #2 they interogte about income, do you own a house, job--they sound like a bank branch manager.
many live in Facebook land, have high debt on their credit card--yes that is what shallow is

beauty's in the eye of the beholder and I will agree that sometimes some women say they're not shallow but place a high emphasis on how a guy looks. Physical attraction IS important in a relationship. Psychologically women tend to look for different features at different stages, (more rugged features at a child bearing age) but i wont drift off psychobabbling. The point is, looks do count, but personality is what draws you even closer to a guy. I've met a lot of hot guys i would never date because there's no connection. It would be unfair to say that all women are this way by the way,.
