I have directv dvr and cox cable and want to know if you can use a diplexer to run the signals through one rg6 cable.

That should be no problem. The diplexer can work with an off-air antenna or cable either one. I have done it 100's of times.

Depending if you have a cable box. Most cable boxes dont like diplexers depending on which diplexer you have. It has to have a return so if you order movies on demand through your cable box it will run smoothly. If you just have regular standard cable then you can use the diplexer with no problems.

yes, used all the time for satellite installations. You can even diplex lines back if you know what you are doing.

would it interfere with the cable moden for the internet

They should work for cable (I have several in my system). However, they will not work for satellite systems.
