The press is been using this word like a fowl word to condem any one who opposes Isreal. I've tried to look at both sides and many of the Muslims in that area have legitiment reasons to dislike Isreals policies. I for one do not take sides here but I do not think Isreal should get any of my tax dollars for advanced weapons and so on. If Isreal is truly God's "chosen people" (for the religious type) THEN LET GOD HANDLE IT!! or does the religious right have no faith. These people have been fighting over the same things sense the begining. Let them fight, kill each other off then move in and take all their resources. The point is there going to fight whether were involved or not. Just look at history. To listen to Fox News and read between the lines. If your anti semitic then your anti God/American. Whats the deal??

captpcb216 - great question. although ur on to something in ur comments following ur question, I'm afraid that ur still missing something (obviously, or else u wouldn't be asking the question).

So here goes. An anti semite is typically defined as someone who has hatred and prejudice towards the Jewish ppl as a whole, with no valid reasons. Basically, ppl hate them b/c they're Jewish. Some made up reasons are that the Jews killed JC and stupid things like that and blood libels like the Jews killed christian babies and used the blood to bake passover matzahs an other rediculous things. Don't be fooled, these are made up. To clarify, anti semites hate Jews b/c they're Jewish.

wikipedia has everything that u would ever need to know about it. Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Semitism

It sounds like your request for what is anti semitic is more rhetorical then real - but as everyoone pointed out it is to be against Jews. It also feels that for someone who doesn't take sides, your mind is pretty well made up. This is not an issue that's owned by the religious right; it's an issue that should be owned by anyone feeling even slightly humanitarian. The reason the issue is so ripe for the right is that the people (Hiz'bollah or hesbullah) started bombing the s h*t out of Israel and Israel decided stick up for themselves. Hiz'bollah are Islamic extremists that are funded by Iran and Syrian, - so you can see where that's going and why we care so much. It is important to go back through the history, see how Israel has tried to be a harbinger of peace, but the extremists have been making this impossible. One more thing, I am a democrat and bring new meaning to the word liberal, so these are just my opinions. I am vehemetly opposed to war or violence of any kind. But I will say if we had used the approach that Israel took against Hezbollah, in Iraq there would be about 100,000 people back in the US tipping back brewskis, talking about their 5 week stay in Iraq.

OMG! God is American?! I hadn't realised! Eat my shorts, dude, and Let there be Coke!

Actually, the media has been warning the world about dead birds too, but who gives a feather?

Death only happens to ugly smelly people who have animals in their house, right? Unless 'those animals' are dogs, or cats, or caged birds, or pot-bellied pigs, yes?
Two legs bad; four legs good.

About your God:
Where did his people emigrate from, or were they here first?

Are they "'These people." (hold your nose, cover your eyes, they might not match Hollywoods standards, those people). Or could they be; "These huddled masses, yearning to break free."?

Yes, why not shoot them all, and let your God sort them out?

But - what if these people are all people? What if what goes for one, a fair deal, goes for all? Isn't the only fair deal 50/50?

Swap over. Check out Afghanistan, you guys - if you can make Florida habitable, you can do anything. Travel abroad without a passport? Fly to the moon? Build a McDonalds in Paris? Rescue Chinese Christians? For no good reason. According to Mammon.

Do you know, despite all that George Orwell predicted, I can remember seeing several headlines about the evils of Russia, in the free press.

I can't remember one single thing about the wonderful victory of free speech or beliefs in Russia. Not a thing about the victory of Christianity in China or the former USSR.

Are there certain (non-property) values which are exclusive to certain territories? Are your evangelists awaiting a settled community, or an established real-estate market?

Is the US so tolerant that they don't want to plant citizens there from 1948 onwards in the hope that they will get used to deprivation and blame someone else? Are Americans such decent people? I hope so. But then, I'm nobody, and my family don't own oil wells, so who cares what I think or feel?

First of all, faith does not equal siting back and doing nothing. I don't have an issue with people who have a legitimate argument against the actions Israel takes. What I do have a problem with are people who use Israel's actions as a excuse to be racist. A good example of this happened just today. Kofi Annan, UN general secretary who should know better, came out minutes after some UN peacekeepers were killed and said that the Israelis killed them and did it on purpose - no investigation, no nothing. Who side do you think he's on? Of course, he had to back down later when it was figured out that their deaths were accidental, but the damage was done. Same thing with France, Spain and many other governments.

To be anti-Semitic is to hate Jews simply because they are Jewish. In this climate today, it is to oppose ANYTHING Israel does, even when they are dead wrong. The hypocrisy is that this nation was based on Judea Christian tenets and morals. And the rub is as a Christian based state it is opposed to Judaism. The Jews do not believe Jesus as the Son of God, the messiah. So the fact that this nation will bend over backward to support them is like a hypocrisy on the back or a hypocrisy. And to embed it all in another hypocrisy, this nation is trying to remove all reference of God from government but not the Pledge of Allegiance, on money etc. Go figure?
