I am a volunteer teacher in old Mexico, and the classroom they gave me has an old chalkboard. The school is a non-profit school designed to help underprivileged children. There is NO money for new boards. Is there any way to re-use the old ones? HELP!!! It's for a great cause!!

There are several varieties of chalk board paint. They are really very good. I have painted over my board several times. I give it a good coat of paint about every two years. The custodians never seem to have the time and I am the one who gets upset about the condition of the board, so I have an agreement with our custodians to just let me take care of it.

They make chalkboard paint. I'm not sure if you could just paint over an old chalkboard with it, but it might just do the trick. It's the only thing I can think of anyway. Hope that helps!
