How do I dispose properly of used cooking oil? Where should I throw it?

I pour used cooking oil and grease into a used, clean metal can (coffee, tomatoes, chicken stock, etc.) and put in the freezer. In an hour or so, it's frozen solid. Keep adding to it until it's about 3/4 full, then freeze it overnight and toss in the trash the night before your pickup.

It is biodegradable, right? Cooking oil is made from editable things. Maybe just pour it out in the woods, or toss it in the trash.

put it in a coffee can. the metal ones not the plastic ones. kepp it by your garbage util the can is full. (keep the lid on it at all times so it doesn't spill. then when full just take out to your garbage can.
