You might consider hiring a private investigator. Maybe the family can go in together to pay for it.

Here are some other suggestions:

Check with friends she had last you knew where she was. Write down anything and everything they say, you never know what may prove to be a lead.

You can call people with the same last name who live in or around areas she has lived and go from there with whatever info you get.

Pay one of the people search websites to get all the info you can in one place ... it may be worth the cost ... they have access to places easier than you do because that is what they do. Make sure it is a reputable one. You will be able to find property records, marriage records, etc.

If you have any idea of areas she might have lived at, do archive searches at the newspapers for her name (she may have given birth, been involved in a story, etc). You may have to pay a minimal amount for accessing these archives.

If you do the above things and compile as much information you can and still can't find her, then hire a P.I., you will have done a lot of the footwork yourself and cut down some of the costs. Hand all the info you have over to him/her.

Good luck.

Also ... if you can get someone to run her social security number ... you might find out where she is working and living .... like if you have a friend or contact with a government agency of some sort ... sometimes a P.I. has these kinds of contacts, too.
