Depends -- life is a big chess game, and sometimes the sacrifice you will make may not be worth it. It is something that only you, the person making the decision, can decide upon.

I'm glad you elaborated on the question - haha

"Is the squeeze worth the juice?" (guess the movie that came from?) It does depend on the situation.

Was it worth it for me to cancel a planned dream vacation so I could take a job in another state and move right away? Yeah, I made the right decision so I could have a higher paying job. I sacrificed something I wanted to do for something that would allow me to live a better life later.

Was it worth it for me to work all weekend to help a co-worker finish a project? No, she ended up having to redo the whole thing. The project was not finished and my entire weekend was wasted - so I sacrificed and suffered.

Everyone has a completely different view on what sacrifces are and what they are willing to do. It's not really a sacrifice in the end - if you end up making the right choice and you feel validated for having made it.

It's a sacrifice when you don't feel the juice was worth the squeeze...

It is worth it if you do not become resentful towards those you sacrifice for. And if you really helped someone else by doing it. If you regret making the sacrifice it is not worth it.

Usually sacrifices are made with an agenda. In other words, in the long run you kind of expect some kind of payback. If it's totally pointless with no reward, then why do it? If a person is giving of themselves too much, then they lose themselves. Each of us has a duty in life, to others, but ultimately, to ourselves. By caring for ourselves, we continue to be our best, be healthy, be strong enough so we have "leftovers" to give to others. Sacrifices should not be made for others if it depletes our own life.

I hate to think of having to sacrifice anything i care about. I would think that NO, it wouldn't be worth it. I would take necessary steps to keep whatever (or whoever) it is you feel like you're having to sacrifice...and if it doesn't work out then think of it as something that just wasn't meant to be.

sacrifices are a part of life! everyone has to sacrifice in any type of relationship. its up to the individual as to if the sacrifice is "worth" it to them. sacrifices are also a part of learning and growing up. so if you look at it from that point of view then yeah they are. i think we also sacrifice when we love someone. we put thier needs ahead of ours. so yeah that sacrifice is worth it too.

Human sacrifice *definitely* worked wonders for the Aztecs.

its better to give, than it is to recieve
often, in sacrifice we get back
but then it is also better to obey than make a sacrifice
or sacrifice for the purpose of gain
or some sacrifice to get attention
sacrifice is only rewarded when done w. good motives

It very much depends on what exactly you are sacrificing. I personally would never in my life sacrifice these following things: character, love, my family, truth

sacrificies are worth it....they are a part of life and the life experience...whether they are for someone you love...or for the good of a group..all sacrificies are worth it even if they do not appear to be so at the time....no sacrifice is in vain...
